Campaign Overview
WWF partnered with creative studio NOMINT to launch In Hot Water, a film that explores the devastating impacts of climate change on the world’s oceans.
The campaign sheds light on the alarming rise in ocean temperatures and the growing prevalence of marine heatwaves—silent, invisible forces that are disrupting ecosystems, endangering marine species, and threatening the livelihoods of millions of people who depend on the sea.
The film highlights the fragile balance of marine environments and emphasizes how warming seas not only threaten biodiversity but also accelerate broader climate disruptions that affect us all.
Outcomes & Results
In Hot Water used innovative thermal-imaging stop-motion animation to illustrate the often-overlooked crisis of ocean warming.
With its innovative technique and urgent messaging, the film earned global recognition with top honors including a Grand Clio, Best of Show at the ADC Awards, and multiple Gold and Silver wins at the New York Festivals.
